Pre-Update Process

  • Ensure that ALL USERS are out of the system while updates are being run. The Download process will automatically kill all user processes. IF downloading programs is NOT necessary for running updates for specific set up changes, contact RDA to assist in ensuring all users are logged out.
  • Know the Compile Date of your current programs. This is usually found in the title bar of each module's sub-menu.

OpenRDA 4.0 LIVE Site Download Program Updates

  1. HR Payroll  System Administration → Version Control
  2. Click Program Update Status
  3. Click Download 
  4. A new Blank Tab will Open in the Browser
  • It will stay blank until the following message is displayed: 

(The version numbers listed below are NOT Applicable and are ONLY for Example purposes)

5. Click the X on the Tab to Close the Screen (This is one of the few cases it is ok to use this method to close a screen in 4.0)

6. This COMPLETES the Download process, please proceed to the next section (Update Programs)

OpenRDA 4.0 LIVE Site Run Program Updates

  • AFTER Downloading the Programs, the Programs MUST be Updated BEFORE Users can return to using them
  • Make sure ALL MENUS have been Closed EXCEPT the MAIN MENU
  • BEFORE performing the following steps make sure EVERYONE is OUT of the SYSTEM 
  • Run ALL Updates


1. HR Payroll  System Administration → Version Control

2. On the UTL (Utility) Tab ~ RUN ALL UPDATES

  • Click Update Security
  • Click Select All
  • Click Cancel once Security has updated (Button labeled with an X)
  • Click Update Utilities
  • Click Select All
  • Click Save or Cancel to continue
  • Click Update Database
  • Click Select All
  • Click Cancel once the Database has updated. (Button labeled with an X)
  • Continue running ALL of the remaining Program Updates on the UTL Tab
  • IF Screens Display during the Updates Click Cancel or Save to continue

3. On the F-B-P Tab ~ RUN ALL UPDATES

  • IF Screens Display during the Updates ~ Click Cancel or Save to continue

4. On the HR Tab ~ RUN ALL UPDATES

  • IF Screens Display during the Updates ~ Click Cancel or Save to continue

5. On the Rev Tab (if applicable) ~ RUN ALL UPDATES

  • IF Screens Display during the Updates ~ Click Cancel or Save to continue
  • AFTER running ALL Program Updates, go to HR Payroll  System Administration → Version Control → Program Update Status → Application Status Tab to verify the latest version has been installed.
