What This Process Does

  • This process can be used to either set or unset the Job Account flag on jobs in mass for an individual employee or a group of employees.
  • The Job Accounts flag must be set (marked as true) on a job in order for job accounts to be set up, and for a job and its associated deductions to be expensed to a job account (Enterprise customers are recommended to use Position Accounts as opposed to Job Accounts).
  • When the Substitute Management module is used to select subs into a Pay ID, and the sub work will be automatically expensed to the absent employees' job accounts, the Job Accounts flag must be set (true) on the substitute jobs in order for them to be selected into the Pay ID.

Best Practices

  • Be careful when ranging in this process, so Job Accounts is set/unset only on the appropriate jobs for the intended employees.

Set/Unset Job Account Flags in Mass

  1. Payroll → Maintenance → Set, Change or Clear → Set/Unset Job Accounts
  2. Indicate whether you want to use this process to set or unset the Job Accounts flag on jobs.
  3. Range as desired to set/unset the Job Accounts flag on the appropriate jobs for the intended employees.
  4. Click the Select button (cog).
  5. If a No Records error is received, it is due to an inaccurate ranging.
  6. A report is provided; review to ensure the appropriate jobs are being set/unset for the intended employees.
  7. If report is accurate set flags to update database, otherwise cancel to abort process.
