What This Report Does


  • This process produces the Check Controls Report.
  • The report will also display change in fund balance for the selected period.


Best Practices


  • Monthly Report - The Check Controls Report should be run monthly to ensure that the revenue and expenditure subsidiary totals are the same as the Expenditure and Revenue Control code balances.


Requirements


  • Posted - All transactions for the period should be posted.


Check Controls Report


  1. Financial Management → Reports → Month End Reports → Check Controls
  2. On the Select tab, the fiscal year and month must be entered. Other fields are optional.
  3. On the Range tab, range criteria may be entered but is optional.
  4. On the define components tab, additional summary totals are available within the balance sheet code structure.

Fiscal MonthThe fiscal month chosen for the report
SubtitleAn additional report title may be added
Optional Sort LevelsOptions for sorting on a specific dimension; recommend sorting by fund only so that only fund totals display for subsidiary accounts
FundSpecific funds may be chosen
Fund ClassificationSpecific fund classification may be chosen; i.e. governmental, proprietary, fiduciary
Fund TypeSpecific funds may be chosen, i.e. general, special revenue, debt service
Fund GroupIf funds are assigned to a group, the group can be ranged on for reporting purposes
Sort LevelsThis is normally not necessary as you can range on Fund and that is the only Sort level we recommend for this report
