What This Report Shows

  • This report uses the balance sheet account masters in conjunction with the bank masters from the Bank Reconciliation module.
  • It facilitates the use of pooled bank accounts and is predicated on the use of unique cash codes for each different bank account.

Best Practices

  • Unique Cash Code - For organizations with numerous investment accounts: LGIP (Local Government Investment Plans) and CD (Certificates of Deposit), a unique cash code may not be possible, or available, for each of these. In such cases, we recommend a unique code based on type.
    • For example: Cash code 111 may represent different LGIP accounts and 112 for a certain group of Certificates of Deposits. For that reason, you may wish to have the five bank identifications on the Select and Range Tab be ones that do not share a cash code.
    • The bank accounts with shared codes (LGIP & CD) would then be reflected in the Other Banks column of the report.

Requirements

  • Viewing Format - To view this report in its intended format, bank identifications that do not share a cash code must be created.
  • Sharing Cash Codes - Bank IDs that share a cash code are to be placed in the Other Banks column for separation from the IDs that do not share a cash code.
