What This Process Does
- Changes journal identifications for selected journal entries individually or in mass.
- A Journal ID can also be changed directly from the Journal Entry Master.
- No processes have to be undone when using this process.
- This process will not change any information, other than the Journal ID, on the Journal Entry.
Best Practices
- Journal IDs – Journal IDs (Journal Identifications) are recommended for grouping similar journal entries together. This can be very useful for querying and reporting purposes. In the event that a journal entry was created with the incorrect Journal ID, follow this process to change the Journal ID.
Change J/E Journal ID
- Finance → Financial Management → Maintenance → Change → Journal Entry Journal ID
- Select the Journal ID you wish to change.
- Type in the Journal ID you wish to change to.
- Range accordingly to change the Journal ID for the desired Journal Entries
- Click Select.
- A Change Journal ID Confirmation Report is provided. If the report is correct, set flags to update the Journal Entries with the corrected Journal ID. Otherwise, cancel to abort the change.
