- Use the Chart of Accounts to record dimension descriptions and values for your expenditure, revenue and balance sheet account codes.
- The system (OpenRDA) uses this information to provide accounts and descriptions when printing certain reports. This results in reports being easier to read.
Steps to Adding a Dimension
- Choose the account type and definition type that the dimension will be added too.
- Choose the dimension type (FD, PJT, etc.) that will be created.
- Create a name or number (usually a number) that will be added to the dimension list.
- Set the Active flag to true to allow the dimension to be chosen while adding an account code through the Chart of Accounts in the future.
- Create a unique description for the dimension being created.
- Click Save.
- This dimension will now be available if you choose to add a new account code through the Chart of Accounts in the future.
Print
- This report lists the dimensions, names and descriptions for the three account types.
- Each account type will also display the structure for the account masters.
