What This Process Does


  • This process is used to establish the Financial Journal IDs assigned during the Add Journal Entries process.


Requirements


  • Journal Entries – Journal IDs is a required field when adding a journal entry.


Creating a Journal ID for Journal Entries


  1. Finance → Financial Management → Setup → Financial Management Setup → Journal IDs → J/E
  2. Click the blue Add button. A screen will appear to add a new Journal ID.
  3. Populate all Required fields and any optional fields that you would like to populate. Use table below to see which fields are required and/or recommended.

Delete this recordSet to TRUE if Journal ID should be marked for deletion.
Journal Identification


Journal ID – Limited to 15 characters
Active FlagMust be set to TRUE for Journal ID to be used
Journal DescriptionA short description of what the Journal ID will be used for
Journal Entry TypeNormal, Appropriation or Encumbrance; the type selected defaults only if the default account codes flag is true when adding journal entries
Default Account TypeExpenditure, Revenue or Balance Sheet; the type selected defaults only if the default account codes flag is true when adding journal entries
Definition TypeThe appropriate definition type for your organization
Default Account CodeThe account code selected defaults only if the default account codes flag is true when adding journal entries
Default Credit CodeThe credit code selected defaults only if the default account codes flag is true when adding journal entries
Default Debit CodeThe debit code selected defaults only if the default account codes flag is true when adding journal entries
Opt. = Optional  Rec. = Recommended  Req. = Required
