OpenRDA Terminology

This section is to define certain terminology that you may read on documentation or hear from Customer Service.

Setting Flags - Setting flags means process boxes are checked (flagged) when that process is complete.  This is consistent across modules.  Two examples are below.

The Personnel Pay Master Maintain screen located in HR / Workforce Payroll Paymaster / Pay ID Pay Master Browse.  Select a Pay ID and click on Personnel Pay.  Then select an employee to view the Personnel Pay Master Browse.

You will see processes at the bottom with boxes to the left.  Each box will be checked during the payroll process as steps are completed.

After a process is run, and you click on the cog wheel icon on the bottom of the Run Report Chain Window, you are setting flags which will check the appropriate box beside the process to show as completed.

Cog or Cog Wheel - The cog wheel icon or also called cog, is a select button to run reports or processes.  You will commonly see this icon at the bottom of reports or files. Below is an example showing the cog at the bottom of a report in Payroll called Job Pay Rate Annual/Unit Change Export.  You will see the cog wheel across all modules.

Set Defaults - Screen defaults are a way to save specific set up on a query browse, report or Define List.  Once you add your setup, ranging, and check box selections, you can click on the Save Defaults button at the bottom.  On the Save Screen Defaults screen, you select DEFAULTS and then click Save at the bottom. This will save all the set up you added on that screen.
